FAQ
General Questions
What is the purpose of our magical potions?
Our magical potion kits are designed to help children believe in their abilities through an approach rooted in kindness, imagination, and magic. Each kit explores a different magical theme while gently touching on everyday challenges children may experience.
Some potions encourage children to discover what makes them unique and help strengthen their self-confidence. Others help them learn to face their fears, an emotion that is natural, but one that can sometimes prevent us from trying new things and growing.
Through play, imagination, and storytelling, these magical moments invite children to better understand themselves while having fun.
Can the potion be consumed?
Although the ingredients are non-toxic and made from natural materials, the potions are not intended to be consumed.
They are designed as a sensory activity that encourages creativity, imagination, and exploration while helping children reflect on everyday emotions and experiences.
Do our potions contain allergens?
We carefully avoid the main allergens identified by Health Canada. This topic is especially important to me since my own child has a peanut allergy.
While allergens are not intentionally included in our ingredients, we cannot guarantee that the kits are completely free of traces. Some ingredients themselves may carry labels such as “may contain traces of…”.
If you or your little sorcerer have allergies, please feel free to contact us to discuss it. One thing is certain: there are absolutely no peanuts in our home.
What age are the kits designed for?
Our regular kits are designed for children ages 3 to 9, although some teenagers (and even adults!) enjoy them just as much.
Why ages 3 to 9? Because at this age, children still believe deeply in magic and fantastical creatures.
We do not recommend the regular kits for children under 3 years old because they contain small pieces that could pose a choking hazard. Younger children may also have difficulty following the instructions and may be tempted to pour all the ingredients at once (speaking from experience!).
For younger children, our mini kits are often a better option, allowing them to freely explore the ingredients and enjoy the magical reactions.
What should we do with the potion once the activity is finished?
Some children become so attached to their potion that they won’t want to part with it right away. You can keep it in a small mason jar for a few days.
To preserve its magical powers, you can dip a small object into the potion so it absorbs its magic. For example, after making a friendship potion, try dipping your friendship bracelets into it.
Since fairy dust is often the main ingredient in our potions, you can also pour the potion outside to invite fairies and other magical creatures into your garden. They may be drawn by its enchanting scent and the magic it carries.
All ingredients are 100% biodegradable (yes, even the glitter!), so there is no harm to the environment.
How many children are the kits designed for?
Our regular and mini kits are designed for one child.
However, since the regular kits include three different potion recipes, the activity can easily be shared between up to three children if desired.
What type of container should be used to make a potion?
We recommend using a small bowl about 3 to 4 inches in diameter.
A wide bowl allows children to clearly see the magical reaction and bubbling effect. If you would like a more dramatic reaction that may overflow, try using a container with a narrower opening.
